A New Season of High Park Baseball
One of the greatest summer pastimes has returned for another glorious season in High Park. Hundreds of kids and their families and friends descended upon Ernie Keith Field on Saturday, May 15th to kick off the 2010 season of High Park Baseball, now in its 59th year. A late-morning parade saw the Little League and T-Ball teams march onto the field, where players and coaches were recognized with special honours and Parkdale-High Park MP Gerard Kennedy helped to officially launch the season. Following the opening ceremonies, everyone enjoyed a delicious barbecue before settling in for the first game of the season between the 2009 Major Division champion Cubs and the Nationals.
