2008 November > ComeUNITY Festival Comes Alive
The Bloor-By-The-Park BIA presented the ComeUNITY festival during the beautiful afternoon of Saturday, October 11th. The aim of the festival was to bring local artists, businesses, organizations and neighbors together to create something truly exceptional. And they did. The festivities took place in the Keele TTC parking lot located on Indian Road just north of Bloor Street. They had live music, fun activities for the kids, face painting, a local craft market, food and lots more.
One of the big features of the festival was the creation of a giant mural on the Indian Rd. alleyway wall showing what this neighborhood means to the people who live, work and play here. The BIA donated all the materials necessary to create this work of art that replaces the graffiti tags that are visible to the south from the subway line.
