2008 November > Annual Open Art Show
The Franklin Carmichael Art Show, open to all residents of Ontario, attracted a large number of oil, watercolour and acrylic paintings for its annual juried show in mid-October. Robert Reynolds' acrylic "Round the Bend" piece won Best-in-Show. Many other works were also awarded prizes. But, all competition aside, the show is really a celebration of everyone's creative spirit. Guests at the opening of the show spoke highly of the dedication, hard work and skill of all the painters. That effort filled the room with inspiring images, many of the wonders of the natural world. The artists in attendance were proud to display their art and have so many at the opening enjoy it. Thanks to the Gallery Committee for organizing such a delightful and enjoyable show, and congratulations to every artist for a breathtaking display of the creative human spirit.
