2008 November > Dominican Dancing

Rhythm and Motion Dance Studio was home to a sultry evening of dance on Saturday, October 4th as instructor Alex led a class in merengue and bachata, two of the most popular forms of dance native to the Dominican Republic. Merengue is the country's national dance while bachata emerged in the rural areas of the island during the 1960s. All the dancers moved to the sound of blues music from the island country as they learned the challenging and rewarding new dance steps. Rhythm and Motion holds classes on a weekly basis to get you fine tuned or just plain ready for those wonderful Saturday evening dance parties they always host.
