2008 November > Speech Contest Toast of the Town

The High Park Speakers, a community-based Toastmasters club, presented their annual Fall Speech Contest in late September at Annette Public Library. The evening began with the Table Topics Contest where seven competitors had to explain in less than two minutes who they would choose as the next leader of our country. Congratulations to Craig Maw for walking away with first place after explaining why he would choose Jack Layton as the leader of Canada. The event was capped off with the Humorous Speech Contest where three contestants entertained the guests and judges. Congratulations to Gary White for being the most humorous and tickling the judges' funny bones. The next contest for the winners is to be held October 1st at 7:30pm at Palace Pier. Good luck to Craig and Gary as they represent the fine talent of the club.
