Say Goodbye to the Old Diner

A fixture on Cherry Street in Toronto's Distillery District since the 1960s, the Canary Restaurant today sits vacant, abandoned since early 2007 as the closure of the Bayview extension had slowed its customer flow to a trickle. On display at Runnymede Public Library throughout the month of February, "Say Goodbye" was a photographic journey into the life of this once vibrant Toronto landmark. The photographic artist, Olena Sullivan of Photolena, specializes in the stories of old buildings.
