Lucie Simons poses for the camera in front of some of her work.

Lucie Simons

The well-known framing and gallery in the Junction, Latitude 44, held an art exhibit to showcase the beautiful hand-printed serigraph work of Lucie Simons. The exhibit, entitled "Visual Profusion," attracted a large audience for an opening night reception at the end of October that consisted of family, friends, local businesses and art lovers. Lucie's hand-printed serigraph work is a unique form of printmaking which utilizes stencils attached to porous screens that support delicate areas of the cut design. For each desired colour, a photographically prepared or handcut stencil is created indicating where the colour will be applied. If you didn't get a chance to view Lucie Simons' work at Latitude 44, we suggest you check out her web site at www.luciesimons.com.
