St Nicholas Concert

On Saturday, December 16th SNAP was invited to attend the St Nicholas Concert at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School put on by the Ukrainian School. Families and friends came to see the students participate in the St Nicholas play. The children were splendid in their performance. Ukrainians around the world celebrate the goodness and generosity of St Nicholas by retelling stories and trying to emulate his kind deeds throughout the year. St Nicholas visits sleeping children on the 19th of December, bringing gifts and special treats. However, St Nicholas made a special early visit to the children at Ts. Palijiw Ukrainian School, where eager and excited children had been practicing their songs for weeks in anticipation of his visit. Accompanied by angels to help him distribute gifts to the school children, St Nicholas showed up to give a gift for their wonderful effort and being on their best behaviour all year long.
